My name is Nicola Scott, and I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2008. I am very proud of my Registration and the experience I have gained during my career in Veterinary practice, having worked in the profession since I was 15 years old.

Throughout my career I have focused on patient care and the needs of owners. I understand how stressful it can be when a pet is unwell and you are trying to manage treatment at home after a diagnosis from your Vet. I have also seen, from the practice side, how frustrating it can be when clients need additional support that busy Veterinary teams are not always able to provide.

Through my work as a District Veterinary Nurse, and member of the DVN Hub, I am able to offer that support in the community and in the comfort of your own home.

I have completed additional training in cat care, rabbit care, guinea pig care, and supporting owners with managing conditions at home. I strongly believe that prevention is better than cure, and that addressing health issues early is kinder for your pet, less stressful for you, and often more manageable financially.

I am a strong advocate for effective pain management in animals. In 2024 I completed 14 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) in this area, and I continue to expand my knowledge and skills. In 2025 I became a Dementia Friend, and I am currently working towards a Certificate in Veterinary Laser Therapy (Photobiomodulation) to help support pets with a range of illnesses and injuries.

At home I have a daughter and some cold-water fish, which has been quite a learning curve in itself! Over the years I have owned dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and jirds, and I grew up helping my parents on their small-holding.

If you need help caring for your pet, please get in touch. I can assist with a wide range of cases.

In line with the RCVS Code of Conduct, I only undertake work that I am trained in and competent to carry out. This is not a diagnostic service and I cannot diagnose, operate or prescribe. All care is provided in communication with your Veterinary Surgeon to ensure your pet receives appropriate and coordinated treatment
